5 Characteristics that SHOUT Jesus at Work

My wife & I have noticed that a lot of Christians like to keep church and their beliefs in Jesus separate from their place of work. Why is this? Is it because we are embarrassed? … Do we think our co-workers won’t listen? … Is being a Christian frowned upon? Whatever the case is it started a conversation between Ash and I. We came up with 5 ways to glorify God at work without even having to say a word about Christ. Wait, wait, wait .. By no means are we saying don’t tell people about Jesus and how he has transformed your life because we think that you 100% should. For those who are a bit hesitant/shy about sharing there faith at work and wants to honor God these points are for you.

Here are a few opening verses that should encourage you in the work place. Whether we like our jobs or not we are there for a reason and no matter how long that season may be the bible tells us to do it for the Lord & to give thanks (Colossians 3:17). The bible also talks about being a worker approved by God that is unashamed. (2 Timothy 2:15)

1. Be JoyfulWhat better way to SHOUT Jesus than by being Happy, Positive, and Uplifting?

2 Corinthians 2:15 – For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing,
Romans 15:13 – May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

2. Be DiligentDoing your job & doing it right!

Proverbs 10:4 – A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.
Ecclesiastes 9:10 – Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might,

3. Turn the other CheekIts easy to get pissed at work but WWJD?

Romans 12:14 – Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.
Romans 12:17 – Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.
Romans 12:21 – Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

4. Speak LifeSave the drama for your mama.

Proverbs 18:21 – Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.
Proverbs 21:23 – Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble.

5. Put others above yourselfRemember, Jesus was a servant.

Phillipians 2:3-4 – Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
Matthew 20:26-28 –  It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant,  and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
